Tower of London

After running 6.2 miles (10K) around Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens I struck out for more tourism today. Given that M-F were dedicated to science and Saturday to art, I decided I'd take in some history today. So I took the Tube to the Tower of London. The Tower presented an interesting contrast between the Crown Jewels (no photos allowed) and instruments of torture like the Rack, both of which are housed therein.

Tower Bridge across the River Thames

Waterloo Block
(where Crown Jewels are displayed)

Guarding Crown Jewels
(Funny hat, but serious gun.)

Armor of Henry VIII
(He protected ALL the important parts...)

The Rack. Ouch!
